- The most common type of cut-off wheel is made out of high-carbon steel with serrated teeth on the perimeter that allows it to bite into whatever material it’s cutting through while remaining flat on its surface so it can continue to spin without getting stuck or bogged down by debris being created by the grinding process

- Type 2 wheels have a rounded profile that allows them to make cuts without excessive heat build-up in the workpiece.
